Why Senior Citizens Should Keep Writing: A New Beginning After 60 Introduction Laxman Singh Aithani at Sardar Patel Stadium, Ajmer( Raj) Young age is often called the golden era of life . It is the time when we study, build our careers, take up jobs, establish families and work hard to fulfil our dreams. During these years, life remains busy with professional and family responsibilities. But life does not stop when we cross 60. In fact, life after 60 can be the beginning of a new and meaningful chapter . Retirement may bring freedom from a regular job, but it should never mean retirement from learning, thinking, reading, writing and contributing to society. For senior citizens, writing can become a wonderful companion. It keeps the mind active, thoughts organised and memories alive. Life After 60: Retirement Is a New Beginning Retirement is often mistakenly considered the end of an active life. This attitude can lead to boredom, loneliness and stagnation. We should look a...

AGE IS A NUMBER: WHAT I HAVE LEARNT AFTER 70s

Image
Age Is a Number: What I Have Learnt After 70s “Age is a number, but the spirit with which we live determines how young we really are.” After crossing the age of 70, I have begun to look at life differently. When we are young, we often believe that success means having a good job, earning money, achieving a high position, owning property and gaining recognition. But with advancing age, our priorities gradually change. Today, I believe that peace of mind, good health, friendship, social activity, kindness and the ability to help others are among life's greatest achievements. I have learnt many lessons after entering my seventies. Some came from books and newspapers, some from people around me, and many came from my own experiences. I would like to share them with my readers. Age Is a Number 6th National Masters Ath Meet Ajmer Growing older is natural, but becoming inactive is a choice. After 60 or 70, we should not think that our useful life is over. Retirement from a job does not...

My Blog Is Not Dead: It Was Sleeping

Image
My Blog Is Not Dead: It Was Sleeping A new beginning for MyDiaryPages For quite some time, my blog MyDiaryPages has been quiet. Looking at the long gap between my posts, someone might reasonably think that my blog is dead. But no—it is not dead. It was only sleeping. And now, after a long interval, I feel like waking it up again. My blog, MyDiaryPages, is hosted at balwabtsingh.blogspot.com. It has been a part of my life for years. I have written about many things—life, society, education, personal experiences, observations and thoughts. But gradually, other activities occupied my time and attention. One of the biggest reasons was my YouTube channel, School Of Grammar. I became busy preparing lessons and making educational material for students. Grammar, sentence transformation, synthesis, narration and other English topics took much of my time. I enjoyed this work, but somewhere along the way, my blog became neglected. Then there was another important responsibility—Masters Athletics....

My Diary Pages Is Back-After Two Years

Image
My Diary Pages Is Back — After Two Years. Two years is a long time in the life of a blog. Two years ago, I stopped writing on My Diary Pages. There was no dramatic reason, formal farewell, or final announcement. The pages simply became quiet. Life moved on, other responsibilities occupied my time, and gradually, the habit of sitting down to put my thoughts into words was left behind. But something interesting happened during those two years.  My Diary Pages never truly disappeared.  Even without new posts, people continued to visit the blog. From time to time, I would review the statistics and notice that readers were still arriving at some of the older articles. That was both surprising and encouraging. It reminded me that once something is written and published online, it can continue to reach people long after the writer has moved on. Perhaps that is the enduring value of writing.  Why Return Now?  I have often felt that there are many things around us that deserv...
