  Five English Mistakes Indians Commonly Make English is one of the most widely used languages in India. We use it in schools, colleges, offices, examinations, social media, emails and everyday conversations. Yet, even people who have studied English for many years often make certain mistakes while speaking or writing. These mistakes are usually not a sign of poor knowledge. Many of them develop because we translate sentences directly from our mother tongue or follow expressions that are commonly heard around us. Here are five English mistakes Indians commonly make , along with simple ways to correct them. 1. “I am having two brothers.” . This is one of the most common mistakes in Indian English. ❌ Incorrect: I am having two brothers. ✅ Correct: I have two brothers. The verb have is normally used to show possession.
