WHY SHOULD WE PRESERVE FROM THE PAST

Image
Why Should We Preserve the Past? Lessons, Memories and Heritage from Our Villages Preserving the past is not simply about remembering old buildings, customs or stories. It is about protecting the experiences, wisdom, struggles and traditions that shaped our present. Every family and every village has a history. Unfortunately, much of this history disappears when we fail to record what our elders know. I often think about my own childhood and village life. I was a young boy growing up in a hill village, far away from many basic facilities such as electricity, drinking water, good roads, schools and hospitals. Life was difficult, but those difficulties taught us the importance of hard work, self-reliance, cooperation and responsibility towards our family  My Early Life in a Hill Village As a young person, I was actively involved in social work in my village. We had very limited resources. To bring up our families, we had to work hard and become as independent and self-d...

English Grammar: Why Do Students Still Struggle? English Grammar has always been an important part of learning English.   The Day I Discovered That My Old Blog Was Still Being Read There are moments in a writer's life when a small discovery brings an unexpectedly big smile. For nearly two years, I had stopped blogging. I had moved on to another project and had become busy learning something completely different. Yet, somewhere on the internet, my old articles were quietly waiting—and people were still reading them. That discovery made me think: Perhaps a blog never really dies when its articles continue to help someone. My Blogging Journey My blog is called MY DIARY PAGES . I have never considered myself a specialist blogger. In fact, I write about almost anything that interests me. I am a retired teacher. I completed 72 years of age, and writing has become my companion during my leisure time. My blog reflects my curiosity rather than ...

Image
The Disappearing Art of Keeping a Diary There was a time when a diary was much more than a notebook. It was a quiet companion—a place where people could write their thoughts, record their experiences, express their feelings, and preserve the small moments of everyday life. Today, however, the art of keeping a diary is slowly disappearing . Our lives have become increasingly digital. We take photographs on our phones, post our experiences on social media, send instant messages, and store important information in computers and cloud services. We communicate more than ever, yet we may be recording less of what we truly think and feel. A handwritten diary offered something that technology often cannot: a private conversation with oneself . Why Did People Keep Diaries? For generations, people kept diaries for many different reasons. Some recorded the events of the day. Others wrote about their hopes, disappointments, friendships, travels, family life, and dreams. A diary did ...
