 My Dog Is Hungry for One Month

The name of my dog is Roxy. She is a large breed dog known as Rottweiler. She is 6 yrs old. . She gave birth to puppies three time, literally in her completing two years, three years and four years. This year in the last week of November again she was in heat but we didn't make her mating. After completing her heat period she was normal. Her activities were normal and she was taking her meal pleasantly. Suddenly, after one week, we noticed leakage from her vaginal urinal trek like water or some sort of liquid.

 This liquid changed it's colour and veterinary doctor told us, the liquid is in form of pus and he diagnosed it 'Pyometra', due to infection in uterus. She is hungry from one month. The vet doctor prescribed antibiotics, aptiquik for appetite, liv- 52, and vitamins. He also suggested to consult a surgeon. She has no appetite, neither she is taking a piece of chapati or any dog food. She is only drinking water frequently and omitting two or three times a day. This is very hard to manage a surgeon in this remote hilly district.

She delivered seven puppies in her last delivery

• Her first two deliveries were normal and successful. All the puppies were hale and healthy. But her third delivery remained critical as she delivered seven puppies, (litters).
  .
•  Unfortunately one of them was born dead and three were very weak and small in size, unable to suck the udders of their mother while the remaining three were in average size and healthy.
  
  
•  The three poor and weak puppies died after a weekat the interval of 2-3 days. The remaining three hale and healthy puppies were sucking the udders of their mother pleasantly but died after two weeks one by another.
  
  
•  The vet doctor assumes it might be some infection in her Uterus but there were no signs of the infection outward. This is why, we didn't manage the mating of the Rottweiler this time.

"Roxy"Is Not Coming for Morning Walk 

• Roxy, is the name of my female dog, a Rottweiler. She used to come for morning walk with me for approximately 5 kilometres daily up-to her heat period is over this year, in the month of November in cold weather.
  
  
•  But now, she looks at me in the morning with her shedding tears in eyes. It seems she is interested in her routine walk in my company but she has no power and strength to walk. So, I leave her in her kennel moving my hands over her head saying you take rest and  will recover soon.
  
  
•  I found her waiting my arrival from morning walk.The leakage from her urinal trek pass is coming in forms of drops now. It comes after some interval while some time it continues dropping in yellow and reddish colour. She is taking medicine but her appetite is still poor.

What is Pyometra in Female Dogs

• Pyometra is a serious potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus in female dogs It typically occurs in unsprayed dogs and is caused by hormonal changes following heat cycles.
  
  
•  During these cycles, the uterus becomes susceptible to bacterial infections, most commonly Escherichia coli (E. coli). 

Types of Pyometra

• There are two types of Pyometra: Open and Closed, In open pyometra, pus drains through the vulva, making it easier to detect.
  
  
• In closed pyometra, the cervix remains sealed, trapping pusinside the uterus, which can lead to severe complications.

Symptoms of Pyometra in Female Dogs and Diagnosis

• When a dog suffers from the disease pyometra, the symptoms include lethargy, fever, loss of appetite, excessive thirst, vomiting, and a swollen abdomen
  .
• If untreated, toxins from the infection can lead to septicemia and organ failure. 

• Diagnosis is typically confirmed through blood tests, ultrasound, or X-rays. Treatment often involves emergency spaying (surgical removal of the uterus) or intensive medical therapy, depending on the severity of the infection
  

.Routine of My Rottweiler during the Day

The routine of my Rottweiler during the day is totally uncommon rather than her past days.She confines herself in her kennel. She rests for long time. She feels uncomfortable coming out of her kennel. She sits in the sun and change her position from one place to another. She can not stay in the sun for a long time and seeks a shaddy place for rest. She often drinks water. Some times, she omits with water and fluid that she consumed week before. She opens her eyes just to look at me. I interoperate the sign language of the dog in her favour as she asks for help. This critical position of my Rottweiler compels me to rush the vet doctor for further medical aid. Most of the time of my dog spends in sleeping or sitting idle.

What Is the Future of My Dog Now?

I live at Almora (U.K, India), The vet doctors are expert and sincere to their duty, But the hospitals are not well equipped for su8rgery in hills districts while the hospitals in Bhabar and Tarai might be better and well equipped for surgery. The reason is the number of pets are in big numbers. It is considered Pantnagar university have a well facilitated hospital with a team of skilled doctors and operation theatre for live-stocks. In case of emergency, the professors and senior doctors are ready for help. Would that, the vet hospitals in hills in Uttarakhand (India), have all the amenities and facilities!
