  Why People are Panic for My Rottweiler - Roxy Introduction I have a dog named Roxy, a Rottweiler by breed. I bred it when it was one month old. My son bought it from Dehradun on 16 August 2019. He trained it as per his knowledge and skill.  It was very small in size and cute in looking. The trek is referred after the temple of  Syahi Devi, a revered Goddess, Maa Bhagwati.It is nestled near Almora, in the Kumaon region, and the trail takes you through enchanting oak and pine forests, culminating at the Syahi Devi Temple, It is situated at an elevation of approximately 2,180 meters (7,150 feet) above sea level. Shitalkhet is at the foot hill of Syahi Devi, at the distance of 36 kilometres from Almora and 30 kilometres from Ranikhet.

 It is a 3 hours trail to Syahi Devi Temple from Shitalakhet the last end of the motorable road. The road is good in condition except a few hurdles in rainy season. The Syahi Devi Temple is at the top of the hill. It would be a steep climb at first up through dense pine and oak forests. The trail then winds by the whispering  of the trees in your ears every moment. The pine trees on the hill at temple site shape the images of two Tigers, seen from a distant places.

  • From Shitalakhet take trekking trail through the dense forest, ascending 4 kilometres steep climb for Syahi Devi Temple.All the visitors prefer the trekking for the temple. The journey is very refreshing with cold wind and chirping of the birds.
  • If coming from Ramnagar or Kathgodam via Ranikhet, stay at Ranikhet and next morning move to Syahi Devi. The motor road up to Shilakhet is in good condition, and prefer trakking from there.

  • By Air: The nearest airport is Pantnagar Airport, located approximately 166 kms from Syahi Devi. From the airport, you can hire a bus or taxi to reach Almora, Ranikhet.
  • By Train: The nearest railway station is Kathgodam, about 90 kilometres from Almora and Ranikhet. Kathgodam is well-connected to major cities like Delhi, Lucknow and Kolkata.You can easily hire a Taxi or sharing bus to Almora or Ranikhet.
  • By Road: Almora or Ranikhet is well connected by road to major towns in Uttarakhand and Northern India. Almora or Ranikhet are about 520 kilometres from Delhi.Regular Buses and sharing taxis are available from Haldwani and Nainital.
  • From Almora or Ranikhet you have to hire a taxi for Syahi Devi, in the early morning. It comes up to Shitalakhet. 
  • These days, the road to Syahi Devi is under construction, but it is narrow and unsafe this time . so, it is advisable, start your trek from Shitalakhet.
