The hall of the Grand Hyatt hotel in Kochi was full to its capacity on Friday, December 23, 2022 during the IPL2023 auction under the call of Auctioneer Hugh Edmeades. Most of the celebrates were also witnessed the function. Punjab Kings gave its highest price to English all-rounder Sam curran @18.5 crore on the contrary its base price 2 crore.It is the highest price in the history of IPL. The past record is at the name of Rajasthan Royals when the side had bid INR 16.25 crore for South Africa all-rounder Chris Morris in IPL 2021 season.

Now it was the turn of Cameron Green, the Australian all-rounder for the bid with Mumbai Indians and hired for INR 17.5 crore deal. There happened neck to neck competition between Royal Challengers Bangalore and MI as his price quickly reached Rs 7 crore, when Rajasthan Royals joined the bidding raising its price. RCB found that the bidding could not stop but jump up to heights, so it decided to withdraw from the fight. MI and RR continued to engage in a fierce bidding war without a pause. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings, PBKS and Lucknow Super Giants entered the fight too, but Mumbai Indians turned the bid or fray in its side and sealed the deal.

Cameron Green was born on June 03, 1999. Presently he is known as Green. He is a right handed batsman and bowls right-arm medium. He is just 23 years old and one of the youngest Australian players on the national team. He has played 21 T-20s since his debut in 2019. Mumbai Indians was searching Green's career for 3 years, and he scored good performance in T-20 against India a few months back.

 His bating heroics was enough to win the heart of the owners of the teams to shell out huge money INR 17.5 crore, the second largest amount after English all rounder Sam Curran in IPL auction 2023. Pollard was one of the best players from MI sid but he retired this year, so Green will be the substitute of Pollard who was the biggest match winners for Mumbai Indians in the past contributing both bat and ball in the ground.
