THE FIRST PRESIDENT OF INDIA- Dr Rajendra Prasad
The first president of India Dr Rajendra Prasad was appointed as President on 24 January 1950. He was the only nominated person for president, so it concerned no election for the post of president. He was elected unanimous president. On the same day the constitutional body selected Jan Gan Man, its National Anthem and signed on the hindi true copy of constitution.

Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed was elected the sixth president of India scoring 765587 votes(80.18%) defeating Tridev Chaudhary who scored 189186 (19.81) votes. Fakhruddin formally declared EMERGENCY in the country.
