TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE [BY B.S.BISHT]

Transform Your Life

What’s the best way to make a difference in the quality of your life. The answer lies not with one-time actions, which offer temporary results, but with embracing the concept of long-term pattern. Any discipline (playing a sport, learning a new language, utilizing a meditation) becomes a tool for growth when it’s performed daily. Starting out, hitting plateaus, sticking with it and pushing send on–these steps all lead toward personal transformation. Nobody understands the benefits of praxis better than George Leonard, co-author of The Life We Are Given. Leonard, along with Esalen Institute co-founder Michael Murphy, developed Integral Transformative Practice, a pioneering program that streamlines exercise for people with busy schedules.

PROGRESSIVE RELAXATION

ROCK CLIMBING

Each 40-minute ITP session integrates elements of hatha yoga, martial arts, stretching, progressive relaxation, visualization, meditation and affirmation. ITP, tested for three years by the Stanford Center for Research in Disease Prevention, provided measurable gains in reaction time, short- and long-term memory, reasoning ability and global cognitive processing. This allowed participants to become more focused and better able to manifest their goals. Make a commitment to use this daily drill as your own stepping stone to a healthier, happier life. There’s one catch: Learning a new skill takes time, and there’s no such thing as ā€œinstant enlightenment.ā€

MOVING MEDITATION

MEDITATION

We must put into practice session what we wish to be. ITP is based on the kata–a pre-determined sequence that is, in a sense, a moving meditation.

1-So take a deep breath, slow down, and get ready to embark on      a life-altering journey.

2- Spine Extension:

Inspire, and extend your coat of arms in front of you. Raise your blazon overhead, bending the knees slightly and leaning backrest from the hips without straining your spinal column.

3- Forward Bend: Expire, and hinge onward at the hips, releasing your blazonry and drumhead down, custody touching the flooring at the sides of your feet. (You can bend your legs slightly.)

4. Lunge: Breathe in and look advancing, elongating your vertebral column. Bend your right field knee joint, aligning it across your rightfulness ankle joint, as you step binding with your left field foot, placing your left hand articulation genus on the level. Keep your chest of drawers open and shoulders relaxed.

5-Downward Facing Dog: Breathe out, and extend your right hand foot book binding to meet the left wing as you straighten both legs. Lift your hips to form an inverted V. Firm your thighs, and look cover at your knees. Keep your neck long and weaponry heterosexual, not locked.

6- Chatarunga (yoga push-up): , and lower berth your knees to the storey, with implements of war heterosexual person and wrists aligned under shoulders. Your trunk should form a straight person line from read/write head to hips. Move your bureau toward the story by bending your elbows, retention them close to your sides.

7-Cobra: Continue to inhale. 2, cross your right wing mortise joint your.

Practicing Discipline In Life

I've been thinking a lot about what I believe to be the central challenge facing our society today. It's not an original concept by any means, but more and more I come to believe that it is the key to unlocking every success principle in existence. Discipline. Discipline may seem like an odd thing to emphasize- but I see the results of real discipline every day. I also see the results of the lack of discipline every day. Here's what I mean: Think about anyone who you would consider to have made it better. You know the person- the woman who is the number one producer in your office and also has a family that loves her and is very close. Maybe you think of the guy who consistently outperforms everyone else and still has time to take numerous vacations AND train for a marathon.

PURPOSEFUL FOCUSED AND DISCIPLINED

Perhaps you are envisioning the manager who genuinely loves developing the team and does a great job of it. Maybe you are considering your own track record right now. Whomever the example, picture clearly why they popped into your mind as an example of success. Now, if you watched that person very carefully, I guarantee you that you will see that nearly everything they do is purposeful, focused and disciplined. They are disciplined about setting goals and achieving them. They are disciplined about maintaining a great attitude, and they're likely very disciplined about how they use their time.

You'll notice that when it's time to work, that individual WORKS- so that when it's time to play they can do so freely and without baggage. On the other hand, consider the individual who perpetually seems to get the short end of the stick. You may know someone who is extremely intelligent, or is very positive and upbeat, or perhaps has a great sense of humor and everyone loves them. Everyone either knows somebody or is somebody who seems like they should be extremely successful in Life, but for some reason they just keep struggling and scraping by. If you watch that person very carefully, the underlying cause is almost always a lack of discipline- about Goals, about their Attitude, about how they use their Time, or about how they communicate- or maybe all of the above. Either way, I notice more and more that the most frequently occurring theme in the lives of truly successful men and women is the theme of discipline.

COMMON DONOMINATOR OF SUCCESS

As Albert Gray says in The Common Denominator of Success, they have formed the habit of doing what unsuccessful people don't like to do so. They are motivated by pleasing results rather than just pleasing activities. In other words, they are disciplined. So then what I got thinking about was the question: What is discipline?: Well, I had heard once before that the word discipline has the same root as the word disciple. As in a follower. Now I didn't want to get all super-religious or cultish on anyone, so I started thinking about what it actually means to be a disciple.

CULT OF PERSONALITY

I couldn't really put my finger on it until recently when the answer was physically handed to me in church. The sermon was called :Majoring in the Minors and the notes at the bottom read as follows: a disciple is one who stays focused on what really matters, and is careful about letting other less important issues or concerns get in the way. Says it all, really. Again, I'm not trying to create some Cult of Personality here. I just encourage you as you begin this day, this week, this month, Your Life- stay focused on what really matters to you- at Work and in Life. Be careful about letting less important issues or concerns get in the way. I urge you to be a disciple of your own success.

The Difficulty Of Setting Goals

A wise man once said that going through life without a purpose is like sailing without a compass, which is the essence of the human need for targets and goals. It is true that there are some people, even successful ones, that do not have clear goals and no foreseen targets and yet they are moderately successful, but the huge difference here is that while some successful people have no goals all the rest of the successful people certainly have a few clear goals.

Why is setting goals important?

Well naturally the first thing to say about setting goals is that it is important just so you have a reason to get up in the morning, to start your day and set you going. Most successful people will tell you that a goal puts a lot of drive and ambition into ones life, adding a true feeling of passion about your goals and placing you in a mind set of readiness to achieve and to work hard at it. Many people do not know how to find their goals, it doesn't mean that they would never have goals or that they lack the motivation to create a goal from themselves, it is simply a question of imagination and self trust, or self confidence.

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

Try and think of a successful, famous person, the biggest internet entrepreneurs or the space scientists at NASA, they clearly did not have any solid base to create their goals on, they had to imagine how a market will evolve or  even more simply a goal. When a person wants something, it is clear to him, kids used to say, "I want to go to the moon", without considering the chances of actually making it to the moon, this is what they wanted, if you look at things this way you will be surprised to realize that the road to your goal is much more possible than what you first thought it was. This brings me to the second part, believe, you must believe in yourself and in your goal for it to be a real goal.

PASSIONATE AND DEVOTION

This is not a lottery ticket that you fill in and forget about it, a goal is something very demanding, you will need to focus on it and passionately involve yourself towards getting it almost every waking minute of your life, and once you achieved one goal you would probably move to a new one, because the moment you start living by goals you will not want to spend your time on anything less great than striving and achieving goals.

SETTING A GOAL

When you think of the goal try and imagine it as clearly as you can, the idea is to set clear goals just like walking towards a point in space, imagine that you are in the desert, there is nothing around you, no building no tress or body of water, as you walk you see something in the horizon, it looks like a tower, now you will walk as straight and as directly as you can possibly walk towards that tower and this is the perfect way to set a goal and start getting it.

CONSISTENCY

One last important thing is that you have to keep working on the goal, finding paths that leads you to reaching it, and monitoring your advancement as you go, do not close your eyes and run towards the goal since you never know what's on your way, trust your instincts and keep believing in yourself. You will need to work hard to get your goals but the good thing is that if you can dream it, you can make it real, this is the only thing you need to remember.
